Legal and Psychosocial Support for Evacuees: Art of Aid Team Works at a Transit Shelter in Stepove
A transit shelter for people evacuating from dangerous areas operates in the village of Stepove, Dnipropetrovsk region. It was established by our partner, the Charitable Foundation *Children of the New Generation*, to provide evacuated families with a safe place to stay temporarily and access to essential assistance.
The team of the NGO *Art of Aid* has joined efforts to support people staying at the shelter. We work with both adults and children, taking into account their needs and the challenges they face during forced displacement.
Our team provides legal and psychosocial support. Legal consultations help people address issues arising from evacuation and access essential information about their rights and available public and social services.
Psychosocial support focuses on the emotional well-being of children and adults as they navigate the challenges of adapting to new circumstances. It is particularly important to create an environment where children feel cared for and supported, while adults have space to connect with others and restore their inner resources.
Forced displacement is often accompanied by uncertainty, the loss of familiar surroundings, and the need to address numerous practical and legal issues within a short period of time. Comprehensive support helps people navigate these challenges, access the assistance they need, and adapt to their new circumstances without facing these difficulties alone.
*Art of Aid* continues its work to ensure that evacuated children and adults have access to essential assistance, feel cared for, and receive support during a time when it is especially needed.
