Introduction to the “Art of Aid”

NGO "Art of Aid" is an organization founded in 2018 in the frontline Luhansk region by women who survived forced displacement from Luhansk in 2014. After the start of the full-scale war, our entire team lost their home for the second time and experienced forced displacement, but resumed activities in Dnipro - one of the key humanitarian hubs of Ukraine.

about us

For our team, our work is not just a job, but a life mission. We know what it means to lose your home and start from scratch, because we are part of our target audience. That is why we strive to help women affected by war, ensuring their basic rights, promoting their integration and strengthening their capabilities.

We are part of the Humanitarian Response in Ukraine (HNRP) and work in accordance with international standards of assistance. However, we do not just provide support - we change the very approach to humanitarian work, combining professionalism, humanity and respect for diversity on the basis of the principle of "equal to equal".

Our vision

How do we see the future?

We see Ukraine as an inclusive, democratic society in which every person - regardless of their experience of homelessness, identity, or social status - has the opportunity to live in dignity, safety, and with equal opportunities for self-realization and inclusion.

Our mission

Who do we work for?

We work to ensure that women, girls, children, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups who have lost their homes and suffered from the war in Ukraine have a sense of safety, dignity, and control over their own lives.

Our way

The history of our development

Since 2018, thanks to the support of international partners (UNHCR, GIZ), we have implemented a number of important projects in frontline communities of Luhansk region. We supported women, youth, the elderly and people with disabilities - conducted integration activities, created safe spaces, and raised legal awareness. However, on February 24, 2022, everything changed: our entire team experienced forced displacement for the second time in their lives. We lost our office, projects, resources, and years of experience. All the activities we had been building since 2018 stopped in an instant.

Once in the city of Dnipro, we started from scratch. Our first step was to respond to urgent needs: we distributed humanitarian assistance among IDPs and vulnerable groups, because this was vital in the first years of a full-scale war. In 2024, we took a very important step: thanks to the support of the IRC (International Rescue Committee), we opened the Center for Protection, Support and Adaptation of IDPs in the city of Dnipro, where we provide legal, psychosocial, social and humanitarian assistance.
